Apply via AMERICAN FLIGHT SUPPORT for overfly and technical landings.
If you apply for a landing permit, both the CAA and Algerian Airlines must approve the permit, so this can take some time, and they often don’t approve until last minute.
Egyptian law requires applications through an Egyptian agent only. The permits are valid for the Zulu date only, so be sure to keep your AMERICAN FLIGHT SUPPORT updated of any changes. these are straight forward with standard documents. Occasionally, we’ve seen the need for a TCAS certificate.
Keep an eye on safeairspace.net for risk factors when flying over or to Egypt
Don’t overfly or land in Libya, it’s that simple. The airspace is not safe, and the airports are frequently being shelled or are staging grounds for fighting. NOTAMs are being sent stating the airports are open 24 hours, but extreme caution should be taken.
Use an agent if you must travel here.
Safeairspace.net will be current with airspace warnings for Libya.
For private flights, no overfly or landing is required in Morocco, but you’ll need to file your flight plan six hours in advance to GMMRADTA and GMMMZQZX. If you’re operating around Laayoune, Dakhla, Guelmime, Bouarfa and Tan-Tan, you’ll need a permit.
Commercial flights require a permit, and be sure to fill and stamp the required form.
It’s actually quite difficult to work directly with the authorities here, so we suggest to work with AMERICAN FLIGHT SUPPORT Ops Team.

Always use the AMERICAN FLIGHT SUPPORT’s agent here. It is difficult to get any response from the CAA directly. Its pretty simple to apply and get approval when using the agent.
Notification times are 24 hours for private flight, three days for an overflight and ten days for one off charter landing.
No overfly permit is needed for operations over water, but refer to Morocco for all permits, even though Spain runs the airspace.
Often, when operating in Western Sahara, we’d just make a single request to the agent for both the Western Sahara and Morocco authorizations, they’ll both be approved together (and we suggest AMERICAN FLIGHT SUPPORT as your agent). contact us 1-888-245-4017 or ops@americanflightsupport.com
