INDIA

The CAA requires you to use an agent to apply for permits here. No permit is required for overflying water routes within the Indian FIR.

Overfly permits over landmass need one days notice. Landings need three days notice.

However, if you are registered in a Chinese country you need to give three days for an overflight and seven for a landing. Plus, be aware landing at a military airport here takes a lot of time to arrange, at least four weeks.

MALDIVES

Applications here are very straight forward. Send through your documents along with your permit request to the CAA direct. They’ll also require a copy of your security manual. Keep in mind the CAA work on weekdays so if you are looking to get a permit at the weekend you’ll need the assistance of an agent.

Give 24hrs notice for Tech and Private flights. Commercial flights need 3 days notice for a one off flight and 2 months if you want to carry out a series of flights.

NEPAL

Give seven days notice for landing permits and three days for an overfly permit. You need to apply using an agent.

The CAA charge per permit, which will be charged on top of the agent fees.

Navigation Fees need to be paid in advance for an overflight. They can be paid on the ground when landing.

PAKISTAN

You must request permits of Pakistan through an agent. They require one day notice to arrange the permit.

Please note that Afghanistan bound flights require four days advance notice, and be sure to keep an eye on SafeAirspace. net for alerts in the airspace.

SRI LANKA

Request Sri Lanka permits directly with the authorities, they’re easy enough to deal with.

Overfly permits need to be requested three days in advance. Private landings give seven days notice and commercial flights need to give 30 days notice.

If your flight is more urgent you can request with a local agent who will assist.
